I remember last year while waiting for the Staten Island ferry in New York taking a moment to look around. What I noticed was that almost every single person was wearing a black winter coat. Although wearing black is very sleek, simple and easy, it’s also quite drab and boring at times. You should take a look for yourself. You’ll notice that every winter it’s a sea of black coats everywhere you go. Maybe you’re even a part of this ‘black coat’ uniform. Perhaps it’s time to lighten up by wearing a range of winter white, eggshell or cream coloured coats. I promise you’ll still be warm. Just bundle up in styles like these above and choose your footwear accordingly. Choosing brown or natural, sand and beige will work best with a light coat. A heavy duty boot like the Sorel will keep your toes toasty on those below freezing days. Up your style on less frigid days with the lined Uggs or flat lined ankle bootie.
