“Your word has to mean something.” – Ivy Prosper

I remember being in a relationship with a man who never kept his word. Needless to say that relationship didn’t last. There is nothing worse than a person who says they will do something and then they don’t follow through on it. Even his mother complained about how he would never do what he said he was going to do. Have you ever met someone like that? It can be in any relationship; romantic, business, family or friends.
We are only as good as our last word.
If you want to foster lasting relationships with your colleagues, friends and loved ones, learning to honor what you say is critical. Otherwise people will see you as unreliable. It may not be your intent to let people down but it’s important to only say what you know you can do.
Own up to whatever you say you’re going to do. If you know you can’t take it on then just say no.
