“If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.”
― Mark Twain
Living a life of integrity is so important to everyday living. Most people have lied about something at a point in their lives. According to a study done by Researcher Robert Feldman at the University of Massachusetts, 60 percent of the people studied lied an average of 2.92 times in a 10 minute conversation. Being a person of integrity is all about being honest in the way you conduct yourself.
As children we are taught to speak the truth but studies also prove that children learn to lie as early as age two or three.
When it comes to our daily lives and career successes a person with integrity will outshine the rest. A person may think they can get away with dishonest practices in business or in their daily life but eventually it catches up to you. Just look at some of those business people who are caught cheating the system. Punishment of the law is the surest way to ruin your reputation.
It’s like Mark Twain said, when you speak truth you don’t have to remember anything. Just think of how once a lie it told, other lies are made up in order to cover up the previous lies. Then it grows into an uncontrollable mountain of lies. Keeping a level of integrity in what you say and in your behaviour makes you a person people can count on. Not only in business but also in your personal live.
Strive for a high level of integrity.
