Ugandan Political Activist Bobi Wine Comes to Ghana

Namata Serumaga-Musisi is a Ugandan activist living in Ghana and is passionate about the freedom of her people. She gathered a group of us in Ghana to come and connect with musician and political activitst, Bobi Wine when he recently came to Ghana to speak on his movement and for justice in his home country of Uganda.

It was an intimate gathering of less than 20 people on the afternoon of November 23, 2018. He shared something significant about the freedom Ghanaians don’t realize they have. He said that in Uganda when you have a gathering of more than five people, you have to seek special permission from the government to come together the way we had that day in Ghana. But all we needed did in Ghana was rent the space, put out flyers and invite people to attend. No government intervention needed. That was quite profound for us all because it’s true, there are freedoms in Ghana that many of us don’t realize we have in comparison to some other African countries.
