A few days ago I saw that famed shoe designer extraordinaire Christian Louboutin has created an African printed tote bag that is selling for over $1000 USD.  It’s called the Africaba Tote Bag and is made using the recognizable colours and vibrant patterns of African textiles.  The style is not much different than what I’ve seen from many African designers and artisans. However, it features the CL crest and embroidered Louboutin logo.

The bag is a collobaration with La Maison Rose, a French charity that supports women and children in Senegal. Ten percent of proceeds from sales of this tote are to be donated directly to La Maison Rose.
