It’s New York Fashion Week and the last few days have seen some of New York’s finest showcase collections we’ll be seeing in stores next fall.  One of my favourite collections so far is Christian Siriano’s animal-inspired line.  He showed an array of pieces that took animal prints to a level of city-chic with an air of sophistication.  Siriano’s use of Pantone colour for 2015, Marsala, was beautifully done.  Pairing it with mustard both brightened and complemented the deep wine-brown shade in some of his pieces.  He ended the show with beautiful dresses that looked more like cruise wear or spring in the colour combinations and bold bright patterns.

Jason Wu also had one of my favourite collections so far at New York Fashion Week.  As usual his clothing is created for a woman who needs her pieces to be functional and serve multi-purposes.  Not only did he do that successfully, but he also showed a woman’s strength and her power of seduction through simplicity.  The majority of the collection seemed to have silhouettes that emphasized a woman’s waist.  This gives way to a classic elegance and modern day glamour.
